Education Use Case

Evaluate backups and a tested restore for selected application data. Backrest can provide the accompanying visual management workflow.

Make backups repeatable and storage-efficient.

Restic creates encrypted backups and uses deduplication to avoid repeatedly storing unchanged content. Snapshots let operators choose a point in time for recovery. It is the backup engine; Backrest provides a separate web interface for managing restic operations.

A practical starting point

A district IT team could back up a defined application-data directory and rehearse restoring it into a separate test location.

What to consider

Keep repository credentials recoverable, define retention, and test restores. Databases need an application-consistent backup process. Celerity's exact 0.19.1 recipe passed bounded L1 deploy, backup/check/restore comparison, destroy, and zero-residual checks; scheduled customer backup service, external repositories, retention policy, and recovery commitments still require separate qualification.

Examples describe possible uses. Confirm the selected version and Celerity delivery scope during your assessment.
